Photograph Ireland's Rugged West with Bret Culp
Walk where monks carved steps into stone 1,400 years ago. Capture sea-sprayed cliffs at golden hour. Stand beneath castle ruins older than memory.
This upcoming Ireland photo tour will take you to the heart of Ireland’s wild southwest coast. It will be led by award-winning fine art photographer Bret Culp, whose work explores impermanence, renewal, and the passage of time.
This small-group photo tour and workshop blends guided photography with space for your own creative process. Together, we’ll chase light, explore mythic landscapes, and create meaningful images grounded in atmosphere, history, and connection. Past participants have become close friends drawn together by shared moments in timeless settings. If this offering speaks to you, I invite you to join the interest list below.

About Bret Culp
About Bret Culp – Short Biography
Bret Culp is a Canadian fine art photographer whose work explores impermanence, memory, and transformation. His atmospheric black and white images capture fleeting moments of stillness and story, while his colourful solargraphs — made using handmade pinhole cameras and months-long exposures — transform the sun’s movement into abstract visual records.
Bret’s photographs have appeared in LensWork, Black & White Magazine, PhotoEd, and exhibitions across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. He has received numerous awards, including Best Nature/Landscape at RMG Exposed at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery and First Place at Impact 2023.
As an award-winning Visual Effects Supervisor and Second Unit Director, Bret brings a cinematic sense of mood, scale, and story to his photography. He spent years working in Ireland on The Tudors and Camelot, developing a deep connection to the country’s history, ruins, and shifting light. His limited-edition prints are collected internationally.
