Kensington Wired is a throwback to my grainy period, when I fully embraced the texture of grain as the fundamental mechanism of analog film image formation.

Shot on Kodak HIE (High-Speed Infrared) Film, a legendary stock discontinued in 2007, this photograph carries the unmistakable glow, halation, and extreme grain that made it one of the most striking films ever produced.

Power lines crisscross above Kensington Market, a visual metaphor for how people, cultures, and histories are entangled and connected in this historic neighbourhood. Kensington is a tapestry of hidden alleyways, independent stores, and storied spaces, shaped by a resistance to gentrification. The wires are more than just infrastructure; they are a physical record of generations that have shaped and reshaped the market’s identity for over two centuries.
