Total Eclipse #2 - 1 Day Solargraph (2024.04.08) was made in Cornwall, Ontario, during the total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024.

The one-day exposure was made with a custom-built pinhole camera and light-sensitive photographic paper. The solar arc is interrupted as the moon passes between Earth and the sun, leaving a direct physical record of the eclipse on the photographic surface.

Power lines, trees, and roadside structures locate the event within a contemporary Canadian landscape, where astronomical time is registered through the built environment. The work was made with field support from Scott Sutherland of The Weather Network, who placed and retrieved the camera.

This Cornwall solargraph is one of two related works made during the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, alongside Total Eclipse over Port Maitland Lighthouse - 1 Day Solargraph (2024.04.08) from Lake Erie.
