At the west end of the Upper Lake of Glendalough lies the ruins of an abandoned miners village. The scenery of marshland, cliffs, boulder scree and the steeply descending Glenealo River is quite dramatic. Following the river down the mountain leads directly to the Glendalough monastic site. |
